Brief Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the staff RN assesses patient’s condition, formulates and implements the patient’s plan of care using the nursing process as stated in our Nursing Standards.  The RN assists in supervising the LPN, patient care aides, and ward clerks for continuity of patient care and will collaborate with other departments to provide treatments and procedures as necessary for the patient’s well being.

Education:

            Current RN licensure in the state of Oklahoma.

Experience:

            Job prefers six months previous acute care experience and six months of learning time on the job for a total of twelve months.

Judgment & Complexity of Work:

            Makes decisions on a variety of complex problems while rendering total patient care.  Creative thinking and judgment is required while observing patients and monitors and initiating immediate emergency  measures to counteract any unfavorable conditions.  Solutions to problems require coordination between RN and physician.
