Patient Responsibilities

Patients have the responsibility to provide accurate and complete information about present
complaints past illnesses, hospitalizations, medications, and other matters pertinent to their
health.

Patients have the responsibility to report unexpected changes in their condition and to make
known if they clearly understand a proposed course of action and what they are expected to do.

Patients are responsible for following the treatment recommended by the physician primarily
responsible for their care and the applicable Hospital policies and procedures.

Patients are responsible for their actions if they refuse treatment or do not follow the plan of care.

Patients are responsible for respecting the rights of other patients and Hospital personnel and
for assisting in the control of noise and the number of visitors in their room.

Patients are responsible for promptly meeting the financial obligations of their health care services.
