Grady Memorial Hospital holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Hospital Surgery and Imaging Center in Chickasha
CHICKASHA, Oklahoma - (October 5, 2016) - Grady Memorial Hospital will celebrate a major milestone on October 19, 2016 in the construction of the new Surgery and Imaging Center with a ceremonial groundbreaking at 3:00 pm. Construction workers, employees, physicians, community members, elected official and donors are welcome to gather at the main entrance to celebrate the initiation of construction on the new facility at this time. Voters approved a ¼ penny sales tax to build this replacement facility in February 2016.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 3pm, and will take place in front of the existing facility, and is open to the public.
Designed by Rees Architects in Oklahoma City, the new innovative Surgery and Imaging Center and front entrance will feature state of the art operating rooms, an entirely new Radiology/Imaging and Women's Care Center, and a spacious lobby, gift shop, and registration area.
Construction of the $15.3 million new hospital building, led by the approval of the County wide sales tax in 2016, will bring new safety and clinical standards and support the overall growth of the hospital. One compete, the new Surgery and Imaging Center will add 30,000 square feet to the existing hospital, and will modernize and replace existing services. Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2017 and the new hospital facility will open its doors to patients in late 2017, assuming a twelve month construction and State approval period.

In early November we anticipate having much of our front entrance parking area to be used as our construction staging area, and so residents will see a temporary parking area on the east side of Mary Bailey Street begin used by our employees. This will reserve more patient and visitor parking during the nine to twelve month construction period. CMS Willowbrook, a Chickasha Construction and Project Management Company, was selected as the manager of this construction project.
