The Grady
Memorial Hospital Foundation
is a planned giving
organization that supports the outstanding medical services and programs
of Grady Memorial Hospital. The nonprofit Foundation is dedicated to
fund-raising efforts on behalf of the Hospital, which has achieved a
reputation as a medical facility with the finest physicians, as well as
an array of specialty care services, community health programs and
quality of life activities.
Since its founding in 1959, Grady Memorial Hospital has been fulfilling
a mission to provide compassionate, exemplary, cost-effective health
care services that are responsive to the ever-changing needs of our
community. What began as a modest enterprise has evolved into a
multifaceted beacon of health care excellence. Grady Memorial is home to
many leading-edge health care services.
As a nonprofit organization, Grady Memorial relies on the generosity of
friends within our walls and within the communities we serve to uphold
our exceptional standard of care. The Foundation is a separate
organization established to conduct fund-raising activities for the sole
benefit of the Hospital, and to manage and allocate revenues to the
Hospital in accordance with donor wishes. Over the years, many caring
individuals, corporations and foundations have played a significant role
in bringing new medical technologies, new facilities and enhanced
patient care initiatives to our community.

Legacy of Excellence
Generous community support is rooted in Grady's legacy of caring and
is part of our blueprint for the future as we move forward and continue
to expand and enhance its medical capabilities, bringing an
ever-increasing quality of health care to our community.
A substantial number of forward-thinking supporters wish to preserve
Grady Memorial's legacy of health care excellence for future generations
by including a gift to Grady Memorial in their estate planning. Aside
from the tax advantages associated with planned giving strategies,
making a deferred gift allows you to support a favorite charity without
jeopardizing current or future income. By including Grady Memorial in
your estate planning, you have the opportunity to affiliate yourself
indefinitely with the Hospital and ensure that outstanding health care
will continue to enrich the lives of patients for generations to come.
Any individual, corporation, foundation or other organization may make a
gift payable to the Grady Memorial Hospital Foundation. Gifts or
bequests to the Foundation obtain the same maximum tax benefits for the
donor as contributions made directly to the Hospital or to any other
publicly supported institution. All gifts made to Grady Memorial remain
at Grady Memorial and are used for the sole benefit of the Hospital and
the community we serve.
Designate Gifts Purpose
If you would like to become a member of the Grady Memorial Hospital
family of supporters, you may do so in several ways:
You may wish to designate your gift for a restricted purpose or specific
project, or you may allow the Foundation's Board of Trustees to
determine the most necessary application of your donation. You may wish
to make a donation to memorialize or commemorate any individual, family
or group. You may wish to make a planned gift or deferred donation, to
maximize tax advantages and/or protect current or future income. You may
wish to make a corporate matching gift.
Friends of Grady Memorial
Caring members of our community who contribute $100 or more annually
earn membership in a special group of donors called "Friends of Grady
Memorial Hospital." The Grady Memorial Hospital Foundation established
the Friends of Grady Memorial Hospital to:
Express Grady Memorial Hospital Foundation's heartfelt appreciation to
its major donors.
Publicly recognize the generosity of the Foundation's donors for making
a meaningful contribution to the community's quality of life.
Underscore the critical and ongoing importance of private philanthropy
to the advancement of medicine and patient care.
Keep members well informed about the Hospital's services and long-range
plans, as well as state and national issues related to health care.
Generate ongoing annual leadership support for the Hospital Foundation's
efforts to help renovate, equip and enhance health services and programs
at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Friends of the Hospital are caring members who are committed to making a
profound impact on the delivery of health care for their families,
friends and neighbors. Annual donors of $100 or more are considered
Friends and receive membership benefits according to several donor
categories.
