Mammography
Mammography is an x-ray of breast tissue used in the diagnosis and detection of breast
cancer. Grady Memorial Hospital is proud to provide the only state of the art nationally
certified digital mammography center in Grady County. This digital technology provides
greater detail of the diagnostic image and has the added benefit of less radiation exposure
to the patient. This department is also active in community educational efforts through utilizing
our nationally certified breast exam educator as an educational resource for schools, churches,
civic groups and the individual patient when they arrive for their appointment.

The American Cancer Society recommends that mammaogrpahy screening become a part of
women's regular health care. Women over the age of 40 should conduct a monthly beast
exam. This educational service is part of our commitment to excellence to our patients. It is
not necessary to have a physicians order to schedule a screening mammogram. We offer
extended hours on tuesdays to accomodate our pateint's busy schedules. To schedule an
